1. Where is the Clerk's Office located?

2. What are the Clerk's Office hours?

The Village Clerk's Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

3. When are the Village's Board of Trustees meetings?

5. Where do I register to vote?

If you are 18 years old on or before the next election and a U.S. Citizen, you can come into the Clerk’s Office to register to vote.

You will need two forms of identification. First, something with your name and current address (Driver’s License, Library Card, Post Marked mail, etc). Second, something with only your name (a credit card, Jewel/Dominick’s card, School ID, etc.) This process only take about 10 minutes of your time. Voter Registration

7. Do I need a Raffle License?

Yes, civic groups or other organizations wishing to conduct a raffle within the Village of Orland Park must first obtain a Raffle License. No raffle tickets can be sold until this license is approved.

8. Do I need a permit to conduct an Intersection Solicitation fundraiser?

Yes, in order to participate in an intersection solicitation fundraiser within the Village of Orland Park, you are required to have a permit. Your organization must be involved in a statewide fundraising campaign and this solicitation is part of said campaign.

9. Do I need a license for my house alarm?

Yes, if you have taken over an existing business and are now the new owner or are a new homeowner with an existing or new alarm system you must complete an application and pay a one-time $5 application fee. If you have already submitted information and need to update it, that is free of charge.

11. How do I apply for a Passport?

The Village of Orland Park Office of Special Services is an authorized Passport Acceptance Agent. Passport can be accepted here by appointment only.

13. Are there any pet regulations?

14. Can I park my Recreational Vehicle on my driveway?

One (1) recreational vehicle or utility or haul trailer may be parked in a driveway, provided it is located at least five (5) feet from a side, rear, or front lot line, and not less than ten (10) feet from an adjoining residential building. See Page 8, #5. Land Development Code

15. Can I own a Motor Driven Cycle?

It is Prohibited. No person shall operate a motor driven cycle upon any public or private street, sidewalk, parking lot, bike path or public park.

“Motor driven cycle” means any motorcycle, all-terrain vehicle, or motor scooter with less than 150 cubic centimeters piston displacement, any electric cycle or electric scooter, any electric or motorized pedal cycle, or any electric or motor driven skateboard, but does not include any electric toy with a maximum speed of four miles per hour. 16. Can I have a “For Sale” sign on my car in the street?

No you can not. It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle upon any street for the purpose of displaying it for sale, or to park any vehicle upon any business street from which vehicle merchandise is peddled. Village Code: Stopping, Standing, & Parking Reg.

17. What time can I cut my grass?

It shall be unlawful between the hours of 9:30 pm and 7:00 am.

It shall be unlawful for any person to use any pile driver, shovel, hammer, derrick, hoist, tractor, roller, power or chain saw, power lawnmower, or other mechanical apparatus operated by fuel or electric power in building or construction operations or in outdoor private business or residential use, between the hours of 9:30 pm and 7:00 am, except for work on public improvements and work of public service utilities, within 600' of any building used for residential or hospital purposes. 18. Are there regulations prohibiting parking when it snows?

It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle for a period of time longer than three minutes for unloading or loading of passengers or thirty minutes for loading and unloading of property on any street at any time after snow begins to fall and for a period of eight hours after snow stops falling, if snow on the street exceeds 2" in depth, provided, that said parking restriction shall continue during snow removal operations until completed. 19. Can I push the snow from my driveway into the street?

It shall be unlawful for any person to in any manner deposit, push or shovel any snow removed from other areas into the public streets in the Village. Village Code: Stopping, Standing, & Parking Reg.

22. What are the rules for posting political signs?

l. Political Campaign Signs. Political campaign signs announcing candidates seeking public political office and other data pertinent thereto or pertinent to an election or referendum shall be permitted accordingly:

1. For properties less than one (1) acre in area, a political campaign sign shall be permitted up to a total area of six (6) square feet. For those properties less-than one (1) acre that are located on major or minor arterial roads or major collector roads, a political campaign sign shall be permitted up to a total area of forty (40) square feet.

2. For properties between one (1) acre and ten (10) acres in area, a political campaign sign shall be permitted up to a total area of forty (40) square feet.

3. For properties greater than ten (10) acres in area, a political campaign sign shall be permitted up to a total area of sixty-four (64) square feet.

4. Political campaign signs shall be confined within private property and shall comply with the setback requirements of Section 6-307.K of these regulations.

5. For non-residential and mixed-use properties, political campaign signs shall not be displayed more than sixty (60) days prior to and seven (7) days after the election or referendum for which they are intended.
