1. What are the fitness center hours at Sportsplex?

Monday-Friday 5:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Saturday 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Sunday 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

2. How do I sign up for a personal trainer?

Fill out a trainer request form and pay in the office. A trainer will contact you within 48 hours.

3. Can I get someone to show me the machines?

Certified trainers are available mornings and evenings to show you how to use the equipment. Call or sign up at the fitness desk to set up an appointment.

4. Can I get an exercise plan/prescription?

Yes, with your membership you get a free equipment orientation and health assessment. During this appointment a certified trainer goes through your health history, takes a blood pressure, body fat test, cardiovascular sub max test, flexibility test and strength test. Based on your assessment, goals, and needs, an exercise prescription will be prepared.

5. What are your group exercise classes?

6. Do you have spinning?

Yes, it is referred to as cycling. Please refer to the group exercise schedule. Group Exercise Schedule

7. How difficult is spinning/cycling? Can a senior or beginner do it?

Cycling class can accommodate all fitness levels. If you are new to a class, be sure to let the instructor know. Also, always bring a water bottle.

8. How do I go about using the Pilates Reformers?

These must be used with an instructor. Group, semi-private and private training is available for sign up through the office. Call Deborah at (708) 403-6285 for additional information.

9. Can I use the reformers without committing to a class?

You can sign up for a free trial by emailing or calling Deborah at (708) 403-6285.

10. What is yoga?

A series of poses that coordinates mind and breath creating balance while developing strength and flexibility.

11. What is Pilates?

A combination of exercise, movement and focused breathing that improves coordination, increases flexibility and abdominal strength plus improved lung capacity and function.

12. How old do you have to be for the fitness center?

Fitness Center Usage: 12 & 13 years old may utilize the fitness center and participate in group exercise classes. Parent must be present at all times. Mandatory orientation with a Sportsplex personal trainer to review proper/safe usage of equipment, fitness center etiquette, and acceptable personal behavior is required.

13. Where do guests check in to use the fitness center?

Check in at Sports Central, located in the main lobby, and fill out a waiver.

14. Do you take blood pressure?

Yes, our certified trainers can take your blood pressure during the designated hours. Please check with the Fitness Desk for availability (708) 645-7529, x6542.
