John Keating has been a member of the Orland Park Police Department for more than 24 years and has served in all divisions of the Department as an officer, investigator, and supervisor. He was promoted to the rank of Commander on February 1, 2010 and currently supervises the Criminal Investigations Division.

Commander Keating was the first Bicycle Patrol Officer in the Village and served on the Special Response Team, South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, and the Southwest Major Case Squad.

Commander Keating holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Governors State University. Keating is also a graduate of the 246th Session of the FBI National Academy and also the Northwestern University School of Staff and Command. He is married and has three children.
