Project Update
Christopher B. Burke Engineering, LTD. (CBBEL) prepared a proposed conditions model and various stormwater improvements to reduce the risk of future flooding in the Hummingbird Hill subdivision.  The collection of the field survey data was completed and the existing conditions hydrologic and hydraulic models were developed.  CBBEL obtained historical rainfall data from the village and calibrated the models for existing conditions at the site.

The proposed improvements were reviewed by the village and presented to the homeowner's association. The project consists of flood-proofing, regarding and modifications to the existing drainage system.  These modifications will reduce the ponding currently occurring on the property resulting in overland flow into homes.

The Phase II engineering design of the project has been completed and presented to the Homeowner's Association.

Project Description

This portion of the project is to evaluate various stormwater improvements that can be constructed to reduce the risk of flooding in the area of the Saratoga Place subdivision near 97th Avenue and 163rd Street.

Project History
The project site is located at 163rd Street and 97th Avenue.  During heavy rainfall events the wetland/detention area fills and overflows.  Some residential units are impacted with basement flooding.
