Project Update
Christopher B. Burke Engineering, LTD. (CBBEL) has prepared a proposed conditions model and various stormwater improvements to reduce the risk of future flooding at the 163rd Street location.  The collection of the field survey data was completed late last year and the existing conditions hydrologic and hydraulic models have been developed.  CBBEL obtained historical rainfall data from the village and calibrated the models for existing conditions at the site.

The proposed improvements have been reviewed by the village and cost estimates for construction have been prepared.  The next step will be for the village and the homeowner's association to meet regarding the costs for the proposed improvements.  The meeting is anticipated to occur in the next few weeks.

Project Description

This portion of the project is to evaluate various stormwater improvements that can be constructed to reduce the risk of flooding in the area of the Saratoga Place subdivision near 97th Avenue and 163rd Street.

Project History
The project site is located at 163rd Street and 97th Avenue.  During heavy rainfall events the wetland/detention area fills and overflows.  Some residential units are impacted with basement flooding.
