The main purpose of this project is to fill “gaps” where sidewalk is missing between two points and make it safer for pedestrian traffic and not to repair sidewalks that are damaged or cracked. The Sidewalk Gap Program is not intended to construct sidewalks on vacant lots within subdivisions that are currently under development.

The Public Works Department has contracted with a private company to fill in sections of sidewalk that are not connected. The contractor will be in various areas throughout the Village to connect portions of missing sidewalk along the roadway.
