Water Conservation Program
Overview
Orland Park’s Water Conservation Program is in effect year round.  Lawn sprinkling is only permitted between the hours of 7:00 am - 11:00 am and 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm, during the entire year.

Over the last several years, as the community has grown, it has become more difficult to maintain adequate water levels during the summer months.  Between May 15 - September 15 of each year restricted water conservation measures are in effect allowing  lawn sprinkling on an odd-even address basis only.

A special permit from the Public Works Department may allow newly sodded lawns to be watered on a daily basis.  Watering on a daily basis is only allowed upon issuance of the special permit. The New Landscaping Sprinkler Application may be downloaded for your use in applying for the special permit

Those violating the Village’s water usage provisions are subject to fines of $750 for each offense. Each day of violation and each violating location shall be considered a separate offense. Questions may be directed to the Public Works Department at (708) 403-6350.

Watch the Village's Website for enhanced restrictions due to extreme heat or drought.

Restricted Water Conservation Outdoor Water Usage Times
Every year between May 15th and September 15th, the village restricts outdoor water usage in order to maintain adequate water levels in towers and reservoirs.

  • Homes and businesses with addresses ending in 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 may sprinkle between 7:00 am - 11:00 am or 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm only on odd-numbered days.
