The Village of Orland Park has received an Honorable Mention in the 2007 Engineering Excellence Awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois. The award is being given for the Orland Park Storm Sewer and Watermain Improvement Projects.

The American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois used rating guidelines to determine eligibility for the awards. They included original or innovative application of new and existing techniques; unique application of different technology, techniques, materials or equipment; future value to the engineering profession and perception by the public; social economic and sustainable design considerations; complex criteria or unique problems; and exceeding the client/owner needs.

The Orland Park Stormwater Improvement Projects were all completed ahead of
schedule and under budget. Awards were presented at the ACEC-IL 2007 Winter Conference and Awards Luncheon on February 2, 2007 at the Drake Hotel in Chicago.
