The American Institute of Architects has named the Civic Center as one of 150 great places in Illinois. The Civic Center campus includes the Frederick T. Owens Village Hall and Franklin Loebe Recreation Center. It is situated on 15 acres of a 100 acre village-owned tract and includes the 42,000 square foot village hall that is easily recognized by the ornate clock tower; which visible from LaGrange Road. Covered walkways, sidewalks and an outdoor amphitheater provide connections between the buildings that welcome pedestrians visiting the buildings.
