The Main Street Area consists of approximately 15 developable acres split up among eight blocks. The site is anchored by a new commuter Metra station and a central park and is already served by two fully improved public roadways. Detention for the entire parcel is accommodated in the existing decorative detention pond on the north side of the property. The Village owns most of the property with the exception of the Orland Plaza Shopping Center.  The Village will acquire the Orland Plaza Shopping Center in February of 2012. 

The Village has expended significant resources for land acquisition, environmental remediation and infrastructure improvements in this District. Due to current market conditions, the Village Board has decided that Orland Park will act as the master developer for the Main Street Area. It is anticipated that the Village will market individual pieces of property directly to the development community. The final configuration of these parcels, including site planning and platting, has yet to be finalized. Phase I of the project has been approved by the Village (September 19, 2011) and will consist of 295 luxury residential apartments on approximately 4 acres of land within the district.  The Village is partnering with Flaherty & Collins on phase I.  Please visit www.downtownop.com for more information.
