The Village of Orland Park recognizes the importance of maintaining and sustaining a healthy work / life balance. As a result, the village provides generous paid and unpaid leave benefits to both full-time and part-time employees.

Full-Time Employees:
Full-time employees are eligible for paid and unpaid leave time. These types of leaves include:
  • Bereavement leave
  • Floating holiday
  • Furlough
  • Jury leave
  • Military duty leave
  • Paid holidays
  • Personal leave
  • Sick leave
  • Unpaid leave
  • Vacation leave
  • Vacation purchase

Part-Time Employees:
The Village of Orland Park provides paid sick, vacation, holiday, and personal leave to part-time employees that are consistently scheduled to work a minimum of 20 hours per week and have worked for the village a minimum of five years of uninterrupted service.

Unpaid Leave of Absence

Requirements:
Leave without pay for various purposes may be granted to full-time employees at the discretion of the village manager. Employees must have exhausted all available time before they are eligible for an unpaid leave of absence.

Members of a bargaining unit should refer to their respective collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for details.
