Time Off Programs

The village from time-to-time may offer or require employees to participate in specific Time-Off Programs. Details of such programs are summarized in this section.

Members of a bargaining unit should refer to their respective collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for details.
Sick Leave Buy Back
Effective January 1, 2001 and payable after January 1, 2002, the village, on an annual basis, will pay full-time employees in the following groups:
  • Department director
  • Managerial
  • Non-union employees
  • Professional / technical

The current straight-time hourly rate or equivalent in whole day increments for unused sick time as follows:

Eight accrued and unused sick days Three days sick pay
Seven accrued and unused sick days 
Two days sick pay
Six accrued and unused sick days
One day sick pay
Five or less accrued and unused sick days Zero days sick pay

Vacation Purchase Program
2019 Enrollment Period: Nov 28, 2018 to December 7, 2018

Under the 2019 Vacation Purchase Program, regular full-time employees that participate in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) may voluntarily purchase additional vacation time for the calendar year of 2019.

Forms received after December 7, 2018 will not be processed.
