Orland Park Veterans Commission Hosts Annual Luncheon

Area veterans are invited to attend; tickets are $15 per person

Orland Park, IL-
The Village of Orland Park Veterans Commission will hold its twentieth annual Orland Park Veterans’ Luncheon for Orland Park area veterans on Sunday, October 20. The 1 p.m. event will be held at the Orland Park Civic Center, 14750 South Ravinia Avenue.

"This year marks the twentieth anniversary of the Veterans Commission's Luncheon and we congratulate them for offering such a nice afternoon for Orland Park's many veterans," said Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau. "This is a great opportunity for veterans of all ages to gather for a meal and enjoy each other's company," the mayor added.

Tickets are $15.00 per person and include dinner and beverages. Veterans and a guest are invited to attend. Entertainment will be provided by Sweet Reminders, a singing duo and floor show featuring songs of 1950s and 1960s.

"The veterans’ luncheon in Orland Park is something that area veterans look forward to every year," said Orland Park Veterans Commission Coordinator Darryl Wertheim. "This is why the Vets Commission does this --- to bring back the camaraderie of enjoying a meal with your fellow service members," he said.

The luncheon is open to Orland Park area veterans and a guest as well as veterans from surrounding communities. Tickets must be purchased in advance through October 18 at the Cashier's Office at Orland Park's Frederick T. Owens Village Hall, 14700 South Ravinia Avenue, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5p.m. The cashier's office is open on the first and third Monday of the month from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.
