Excessive Rains Cause Orland Park Road Closures

The Orland Park Police Department has announced a number of road closures because of flooding caused by the excessive rains overnight. Motorists are reminded to not drive through standing water.

• Southwest Highway from 131st to 135th Streets is closed completely with Police Department barricades.

• Wolf Road is closed from Southwest Highway to 167th Street. Barricades and signs have been posted at this location, including Brookhill Drive at Wolf Road.

• Will-Cook Road is closed from Westbrook Drive to 167th Street.

• Wheeler Drive is closed from 80th Avenue to Catalina Drive with numerous barricades along Wheeler Drive.

• Will-Cook Road is closed at Cannon Drive, between 159th and 167th, with barricades.

• Will-Cook Road is closed at 15600 near Oak Hill Road. Cook County has barricades in place at this location.

• 108th Avenue is closed from Bear Island to 159th Street. This is the east entrance to Century and Meadow Ridge Schools.

• 143rd Street is closed with barricades west of Wolf Road near Creek Crossing.

• Wolf Road is closed from 143rd Street to 151st Street with Police Department barricades.

• Southwest Highway is closed from 143rd to 135th Streets.

Areas of concern, but not yet closed:
• 80th Avenue at 143rd Street is marked with “water on pavement signs.”
• 87th Avenue south of 143rd Street 
• Cook County may close 135th Street west of Southwest Highway. Area is being monitored.
