Village of Orland Park Offers Grand Slam Event with the Chicago White Sox

The Village of Orland Park’s Grand Slam Event with the Chicago White Sox will be held Sunday, June 7 at 1:10 p.m. when the White Sox face the Detroit Tigers.

Orland Park’s Grand Slam Event offers discounted tickets, discounted parking, discounted meal packages and commemorative Orland Park Sox Fan T-shirts. This is the first time Orland Park has held its event on a White Sox Family Sunday and children will be able to enjoy special autograph sessions with current and former White Sox players, as well as White Sox broadcasters. They will also be able to run the bases after the game, weather permitting. Mayor Dan McLaughlin is scheduled to throw out the first pitch.

“We’re hoping that more families are able to take advantage of the discounts with it being a Family Day Sunday at US Cellular Field,” said Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin. “They have all kinds of activities for the kids during and after the game.”

Family Day Sunday’s at US Cellular Field are presented by The University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital. They cover 12 Sunday home games and feature tickets as low as $5 in the upper level of the stadium. Parking is available for $10.

In addition to discounted tickets, Orland Park’s event offers discounted Patio Party tickets. The patio opens 90 minutes prior to the game and lasts 30 minutes after the scheduled start time. The Patio menu includes an all-you-can eat menu catered by Bertucci Buffet with different barbeque food items, Miller beverages, Pepsi, and more.

“This is a great outing for everyone to enjoy a summer afternoon of baseball,” the mayor said. “The White Sox have put together a great package for the game which makes it a nicely priced outing for families.”

Attendees do not need to be Orland Park residents to take advantage of the discounts. Transportation is not included and orders will not be redeemed at the U.S. Cellular Field ticket windows or the White Sox administrative offices.

The deadline to order tickets has been extended to June 5 for faxed order forms and on the day of the game for online orders. Attendees do not have to live in Orland Park to take advantage of the discounts. This event is open to everyone.

The ticket order form can be found on the village’s website at Discounted patio tickets and t-shirts can only be purchased by mailing or faxing an order.

Online orders at will be accepted up until three hours before game time with tickets being available at the Will Call Window at US Cellular Field.
