Posted on 02/20/2013

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that it will close LaGrange Road in Orland Park between 135th and 143rd Streets on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Saturday morning.

IDOT has been demolishing the old Metra Southwest Service bridge over LaGrange Road in advance of additional contracts scheduled to be let this year for the $90 million reconstruction and widening of La Grange Rd. from 131st St. to 179th St.

A new Metra railroad bridge was constructed last summer.

A detour will be in place each night. Drivers will be detoured via 143rd St., to IL Rt. 7/Southwest Highway to 135th St. to reconnect with La Grange Rd. All businesses and side streets will remain accessible during the closure.
