Posted on 06/25/2015

All work described and scheduled is highly weather dependent and may change day to day.

179th to 159th
Permanent pavement throughout the corridor is scheduled to start this week and continue for the next couple of weeks. In some instances, paving operations may be limited to intersections or side roads.

The Village of Orland Park monument wall foundation work is complete at the northeast corner of 167th Street and LaGrange Road.

Additional asphalt paving will take place at 167th Street. Sidewalk from 179th Street north has been installed along the east side of LaGrange.

159th to 143rd
Starting June 16, 147th Street east of LaGrange Road will be close. A detour will be posted. The road will be closed for 21 calendar days. It is anticipated that 144th Street east of LaGrange Road will be closed starting July 7. The contractor and the Village will coordinate new water service connections with business owners. In some instances, this work will be completed over night to minimize disruption to businesses. Retaining wall work will continue throughout the corridor.
Pavement subgrade preparation is on-going. The contractor will continue to remove dirt and install stone sub base in anticipation of the permanent concrete pavement. This work includes installing pavement underdrains and storm sewers. The contractor will be installing curb and gutter, stone subbase and asphalt pavement along the south side of 151st Street.

143rd to Creek Road
Retaining wall work along the east side between the rail road tracks and Southwest Highway will be complete. Storm water drainage structure work will continue along the newly constructed retaining wall. Earthwork and subgrade stone will continue in anticipation of constructing permanent pavement along the east side later this year. The contractor anticipates traffic staging to the south side of 135th Street within the next two weeks.
