Orland Park Boy Scout Troop 383 Collects for Tornado Victims at Pancake Breakfast
Orland Park Boy Scout Troop 383 is spearheading a local collection for families affected by the November 17 tornadoes in Illinois. The troop is coordinating its collection with the annual pancake breakfast the group is co-sponsoring on Saturday, November 23 at the Orland Park Civic Center, 14750 South Ravinia Avenue.

Items requested include non-perishable food items, bottled water, large garbage bags, work gloves, bleach, buckets, sponges, mops, towels, baby formula, infant care items, diapers, flashlights, aspirin, batteries, manual can openers, duct tape, matches, scissors, toilet paper, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, gas cards, gift cards, toiletries (razors, soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, etc.)

Scouts will collect from 8 a.m. until noon. Attending the pancake breakfast is not required for dropping off donations.

Orland Park Lions Sending Trailer to Central Illinois
The Orland Park Lions Club is loading a trailer of needed supplies for the residents of Central Illinois affected by the November 17 tornadoes. The club will have a trailer staffed at the northwest corner of 143rd Street and LaGrange Road on Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Area residents are invited to donate new school supplies, including pens, paper, notebooks, crayons, pencils, backpacks, school pack tissues; baby formula; manual can openers; plastic food storage containers; plastic food storage bags; cleaning supplies including buckets, mops, sponges; paper towels and trash bags. Cash donations will also be accepted as the Lions Club members will continue to shop until the trailer departs on Monday.

Orland Township Supplies and Relief Drive for Washington, IL
Donations of pillows, toiletries, gift cards, etc. can be dropped off at the Orland Township Office, 14807 South Ravinia Avenue. Donations will be accepted during regular business hours next week, Monday and Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Orland Township will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving but will reopen to accept donations on Friday, Nov. 29 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Donations will be accepted until Saturday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m.

The township is collecting pillows with cases, bath towels, wash cloths, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, shampoo, body wash, hair brushes, feminine products, underwear, socks, mittens and gloves, gift cards, etc. Visa gift cards or Wal-Mart gift cards are highly suggested. All donations must be NEW. Worn or used clothing or toiletries will not be accepted.
