It's become an Orland Park tradition --- Mayor Dan McLaughlin inviting the community to sign good luck boards for the current Chicago sports team on its way to a championship.

A lifelong Chicago White Sox fan, McLaughlin is rallying the community's support for the city's current contender --- the Chicago Cubs.

McLaughlin is inviting Cubs fans to visit Orland Park's Village Hall to sign oversized poster boards that will be delivered to Wrigley Field.

"We invite everyone to stop at the Village Hall and sign one of the boards so the Cubs organization knows that the Orland Park community is wishing them well," McLaughlin said. "We've done this for the Blackhawks, the White Sox and invited people to sign boards for the Cubs in 2003 and 2015."

Cubs fans wanting to sign the boards must come to the Village Hall between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26 and between 8 a.m. and noon on Thursday, October 27.

The boards will head to Wrigley Field Thursday afternoon. Orland Park's Village Hall is located at 14700 South Ravinia Avenue.

"I'm excited for Orland Park's many Cubs fans and for the City of Chicago," McLaughlin said. "It's a long time coming and we sincerely hope they win it all."
