The Village of Orland Park 2015 Mayor’s Cup Golf Outing to benefit the Orland Park Nature Center will be held Tuesday, September 15 at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park.

The golf outing begins at 8:30 a.m. with check-in and a continental breakfast.

“This is an Orland Park favorite,” said Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin. “We look forward to it every year and it’s a good time out on the golf course while we raise money for a great, local cause.”

The shotgun start will be at 9:30 a.m. and there will be a barbeque lunch on the course. Cocktails will be served from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and dinner will be served at 4:00 p.m.

Tickets are limited to 144 golfers on a first come, first serve basis. Golf and dinner tickets are $130 per person and include 18 holes of golf, one-half cart, continental breakfast, lunch on the course, cocktails, dinner and door prizes. Golf only tickets are $100 per person and will include 18 holes of golf, ½ cart, continental breakfast, and lunch on the course. Dinner only tickets are $50 and include cocktails, dinner and door prizes.

New amenities have been added to this year’s Mayor’s Cup. They will include a $40 Super Card which includes all SMT on course games and a scratch card, and a chance to win cash or prizes, including a two-night Vegas stay package. There will also be on course games including golf ball launcher, scatter flags, cash landing and speed hole, craft beer and a beat the mayor hole.

A number of sponsorships are available including a $200 hole sponsor where a sign with the sponsor’s name will be displayed at one hole on Silver Lake’s 18 -hole north course. Other sponsorships include $300 continental breakfast where sponsors’ names will be prominently displayed at the morning check-in, a $500 cocktail hour where sponsor names will be prominently displayed during the cocktail and dinner hours, and a $1,000 lunch on the course where sponsor names will be prominently displayed during lunch on the course and during the cocktail and dinner hours.

“There is something for everyone during our golf outing,” said the mayor. “There are so many ways for people to get involved and contribute, including participating in the golf outing or sponsoring different aspects of the event.”

McLaughlin created the Open Lands Fund in November, 1995 to preserve open space in the village. The Open Lands Commission has purchased and preserved hundreds of acres in the village.

The newest addition to the Open Lands of Orland Park, the Orland Park Nature Center will be located at 13951 South LaGrange Road. When completed, the center will include an outdoor gathering area, bird watching stations, butterfly gardens, bike access and small group indoor and outdoor learning opportunities.
