Village Recreation Department Hosts Dance Company Auditions

The Village of Orland Park Recreation Department’s Dance Company will hold auditions for the 2016-2017 season on Thursday, September 1 at 6:30 p.m. in room 101 of the Cultural Center, 14760 S. Park Lane.

Dancers are to dress in appropriate dance attire and must be accompanied by a parent. Parents will attend a mandatory meeting before auditions at 6:15 p.m.

The Dance Company is for serious dancers and an additional dance/jazz class is required. Junior Dance Company is for those in grades sixth through eighth and Senior Dance Company for students in ninth through twelfth grade. The program is led by veteran dance instructors Colleen Panega and Kristin Lux.

Dance Company rehearsals are on Thursday evenings and advanced ballet/jazz class on Monday evenings. The Dance Company season runs for 31 weeks from September 12 – December 8, and January 9 – May 25.

The fee for the year is $700 for residents; $875 for non-residents and includes classes, rehearsals, and two costumes. Fees may be paid in full or with a payment plan.
