Restricted Outdoor Water Usage ! ! !
Posted on 06/28/2012

Because of the extreme weather conditions,
the Village of Orland Park is limiting outdoor
water use until further notice.

Outdoor sprinkling is permitted in the
EVENING ONLY FROM 7PM TO 11PM,
according to the Odd/Even Address tem

MORNING SPRINKLING IS CURRENTLY PROHIBITED.

Homes and businesses with addresses ending with even numbers, 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8, may sprinkle on even numbered days during the evening hours of 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. only.

Homes and businesses with addresses ending with odd numbers, 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9, may sprinkle on odd numbered days during the evening hours of 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. only.

"Towns throughout the area are asking for everyone's cooperation because of the extreme temperatures and lack of rain," said Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin. "We're also encouraging residents to check on their elderly or disabled neighbors to be sure that they're okay," the mayor added.

The Orland Park Police Facility, at 15100 South Ravinia Avenue , is the village's designated cooling center.

"Those who need a cooling center should come to the Police Station and, if necessary, we can open other village buildings for those who need them," said Police Chief Tim McCarthy.

The village is notifying residents of the restricted outdoor water use and availability of cooling centers through the local media, its website, social media, cable television and the village's Global Connect Emergency Notification tem, reaching subscribers by phone. Free subscription to the system is available on the village's website at www.orland-park.il.us.

"We're asking everyone to cooperate with the temporary restrictions and to let their friends and neighbors know how important these efforts are to the water system reserves in our community," McLaughlin said.

Water customers are reminded that those violating the village's water usage provisions are subject to fines of $750 for each offense. Each day of violation and each violating location shall be considered a separate offense.
