World-renowned professional dancers will return to Orland Park when the Village of Orland Park Arts Commission presents "The Best of Dance Chicago" at the Carl Sandburg High School Performing Arts Center, 13100 S. LaGrange Road (US Route 45), in Orland Park.

Representatives from the best dance companies in the Chicago area will perform on Saturday, January 17 beginning at 7:30 P.M. Founded by Fred Solari and John Schmitz, "Dance Chicago" celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2004. "Dance Chicago" has become the most diverse and comprehensive exposition of dance in the history of Chicago and is the only festival of its kind in the nation.

Schmitz, who serves as artistic director and curator for "Dance Chicago," explained, "With each show, we tailor it for what the audience enjoys." Schmitz added, "This is a completely different show than what we presented last year," noting that the Orland Park show will feature a range of genres.

"We are very fortunate to have a number of different genres performing on January 17," said Orland Park Arts Commissioner Colleen Panega, who is again coordinating the village's dance event. "This is a magnificent collection that will appeal to all ages, from the very young on up to our seniors," she added.
