Calling all GLEEks! The Village of Orland Park is seeking twenty-four talented female and male members to round out its Glee Club ensemble. The club, which emulates the show GLEE, is open to anyone between the ages of 13 and 30. "The Orland Park Glee Club has been very well received by the community and they've performed for a number of events and organizations," said Orland Park Recreation Program Supervisor Stephanie Simpson. "We're hoping to add a few more members to the group and welcome anyone who likes to sing and dance to come out and audition," she added.

Spring auditions will be held Tuesday, April 3 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm in Room 203 of the village's Cultural Arts Center, 14760 Park Lane. Those auditioning should bring a prepared a cappella song to sing and wear comfortable clothing and shoes to learn and perform a dance as part of the audition. The group's first rehearsal will be held immediately following the auditions from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

The Orland Park Glee Club is directed by Frann Carnivele-Sidlow, resident producer/director of the village's theatre program and Jennifer Miller, who teaches music at High Point and Century Junior High Schools in Orland Park. Rehearsals will be held Tuesdays, April 10 to May 22 from 7pm to 9pm at the Cultural Arts Center.. If named to the ensemble there is a participation fee of $140.00 for residents and $210.00 for non-residents. An additional fee will also be charged for costumes chosen for the group.

"The Orland Park area is rich with theatrical talent and we invite everyone who enjoys singing and dancing to come out for the village's Glee Club," Carnivele-Sidlow said.

Entering its third season, GLEE is a musical comedy about a group of ambitious students who strive to outshine their singing competition to win nationals. Since its debut, GLEE has become a cultural phenomenon, receiving Golden Globe and Peabody Awards.
