Watermain Replacement Begins

Watermain Replacement Begins
Posted on 03/16/2010

The Mayor and Trustees have made a long-term commitment to Village residents to improve the quality of water service in Orland Park. In 2010, as part of this commitment, the Public Works Department will be replacing the watermain in your Subdivision along Highland Avenue, Holly Court, Park Lane, 146th Street and 147th Street. The existing watermain, installed in the ‘60s, will be fully replaced. Construction will generally occur from March to mid-June and consist of new water services to all users as well as new fire hydrants and control valves, etc.

The watermain project will be completed as part of the Orland Hills Gardens Phase I Watermain Replacement Program and once the underground work is completed, the streets will be prepared and repaved. All areas will be restored following construction.

Water service may be interrupted during construction of the watermain for short periods of time and roads may be temporarily closed during daytime hours. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will provide pertinent notices and signs to keep you abreast of our progress.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the construction, please call the Village of Orland Park, Public Works Department at 708/403-6350. Thank you.
