Teen Citizen Police Academy

The Orland Park Police Department invites local teens to enjoy a free, two-day look at local law enforcement. The department will offer its Teen Citizens Police Academy. The program introduces teens to a number of the department's programs and responsibilities.

Participants must pass basic background checks and space is limited. Orland Park teens are given priority. If space becomes available, the academy will be open to non-residents.

Participants will learn about recruiting, training, dispatch, patrol, K9, traffic enforcement/DUI, internet investigations, and more.

The Teen Citizens' Police Academy will consist of two eight-hour sessions with lunch provided by the Village of Orland Park. Those who complete the academy will receive certificates.

Applications are available by calling the Orland Park Police Department Investigations Division.
