MWRDGC - Tinley Creek Streambank Stabilization Project
Project Update - Update 7/11/16
This project is being designed, permitted and funded by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRDGC) to reduce and/or eliminate the severe erosion being experienced along two stretches of Tinley Creek from approximately 151st Street south to 159th Street.

In 2012, the Village met with the MWRDGC and their consultants to discuss the project scope including easements, utilities, timeframe, etc. At that time, construction was expected to take place in 2014 depending on the US Army Corps of Engineers permits and easement acquisition. As of 2013, the design of the proposed improvements were virtually complete (approximately 98%.)

The MWRDGC continues working to obtain construction and permanent easements for the stabilization project but it is not moving forward due to lack of cooperation from property owners in obtaining easements.  Construction will be scheduled when the easements have been procured.

As information is made available to the Village, it will be made available to the residents via this website.
